I've made quite the pair of images for a Lotus Wire t-shirt. At 3200x2400 resolution, zoomed out 1:4, the logo looks like a circuit board in backlit amber and the background flower looks like it's got glowing code-like hash marks. Zoomed in to 1:1 there are all kinds of crazy moire patterns and contour maps and other interesting artifacts. At 1024x768 jpg it's lost a lot of that detail. I'll see how it looks on a shirt though.
Meanwhile the logo image for the back of the shirt looks a bit like a nice dark rosin for violin bows, complete with scratches where somone roughed up the surface to use it, sitting on a damp and mineral-stained bathroom floor. Anyway, I seriously doubt I could stumble into the combination of effects and whatnot I used to get there... no PhotoShop plugins were used, just what came with good old (emphasis on old) PSP 4.0. Which means no layers and one undo level. Not the greatest of tools, but I have stuck with it ever since the gratuitous interface changes and huge price increase of 5.0.
Stupid me, I saved the back image *with* the text overlay but not without it. What did I just say about not having layers? Yeah. Ah well, if I need it sans text I can probably fudge it and not lose too much of the shadow/stain thing.
Yes, I could post the images here but it's more fun to just describe them. And if the sample shirt looks dumb after all, I'll have saved some bandwidth. :)
Speaking of t-shirts, our Homestar Runner stuff arrived today. It immediately occurred to me that the previously unnamed yellow Lancer, for which I bought a The Cheat window sticker, could very well be named The Cheat. Who's the dude who moves to the beat? The Cheat, The Cheat. Who's that guy from 21 Jump Street? Not The Cheat, not The Cheat. I think that would make Jeff's Tracker Strong Bad, and Steph's car Marzipan?
Shoulder = still hurtin'. From what I've read online, it's likely a minor rotator cuff tear -- pretty much any internal shoulder injury is. The first 48-72 hours are supposed to be key; too bad I found out about that a week and a half later. :P They heal slowly, but heat, massage and working it gently do help. At least it's not a major tear, which would seriously weaken the arm and/or limit range of motion, and those pretty much don't heal without surgery.

Make sure you're rested before the Matrix, both mentally and visually, because there's too much info to take in at one sitting. Don't ask me why the local theater thinks Wednesday 10 pm equals a May 15th release. I am just happy they think that way.

So, what Homestar Runner stuff did you get? Just the sticker? Details, we need details! :) The curiosity is burninating me...

Besides the The Cheat sticker, a Trogdor shirt. Check out all his majesty!

Yeah, I went to see The Matrix: Reloaded at 10:15 yesterday (apparently inside the Matrix it was the 15th. Or something). It rocked, I loved it just for the action sequences alone. Remember to stay for after the credits to see the trailer for The Matrix: Revolutions. :)
Surprisingly a lot of people I went with didn't like it too much, but perhaps that's because they had really high expectations for the movie. Ah well, I enjoyed it. I'm itchin' to see The Hulk now, hopefully it'll turn out as good as X2. :)
