In the last 4 days my blood sugar has gone 146, 145, 137, 124. Yay :) 80-120 is the goal, and it will probably settle at about 110-120. 140 is the old standard for a healthy level, so it hasn't been too bad, but 120 is better in terms of risk for eventual heart trouble and other nasty things. And with two parents who do have heart trouble, I do need to stay on top of it.

And I made my $1000 (after insurance) appointments for two more crowns. Aiee.

I briefly started up a new Morrowind character to see what it was like, a Shade from "The Old Ways" mod, planning on going stealth and athletics rather than endurance and magic. Boy how it sucks, compared to what I've gotten used to with Etreia. It scales up fast -- there's a huge difference between fighting with an iron tanto and a Dwemer Jinksword while still at level 1 -- but then there's the stealing issue. Magic is a much easier path to uber-thiefhood than actual thief skills are.

I think with Etreia I hit an optimum combination. Heavy Armor + Spear + Sign of the Lady + Endurance primary + race with decent Endurance = a ton of hit points, a lot of defense and an extremely effective weapon. Combine that with constant effect 86% Chamelon, constant effect Restore Health 12, and a Daedric spear enchanted with Absorb Health, and she's practically invincible in combat. The tougher Daedra and armored fighters may not die in a single critical hit, but they will run away from the unseen thing beating the crap out of them. They just won't run fast enough to get away from the spear.

That permanent levitation exploit is more of a convenience than anything now -- in fact, because I'm not running and jumping around like a normal character I'm missing out on Athletics and Acrobatics. Nothing really frightens me, other than getting caught stealing and needing to kill a lot of people that I don't want to kill. Which is solved by the ultimate cheat... save first and reload after failure. :P

What I would do differently with a new character: - no perma-flying. - set out to make spear the primary attack form from the beginning. - less magic in general, just thief-skill replacements, Fury, and the occasional levitation; rely on enchantments and magic items more. - emphasize Str over Int (carry more loot).

Big frame rate wins in the HJ client in the last week and a half. Intel VTune is quirky and temperamental, but when it does work it tells you all kinds of things you never would have guessed. With some of it I still don't understand where the slowdown is after looking at the disassembly -- maybe some kind of Pentium 4 weirdness or a timing issue with the video card.

I don't know what the definition of a good blood glucose level for the "average" person other than what I've been told mine should be at. Are those levels 2 hours after meals? I'd just like to know more about it. My levels should be:
fasting - 60 to 105
2 hours after meals - below 120

I noticed when I was sick my fasting levels went up to 100, when they're usually around 75 to 85.

The ones I gave are fasting (the doc had me quit testing anything else, after the first couple weeks). Might be different according to weight, gender, age, and all kinds of other junk.

At 80 I'm pretty moody, at 60 my hands shake and everything is weird and scary and confusing (especially my driving, heh). But some people wake up at 40 and are fine.

The low point for me isn't fasting actually, because of the medication... it's about 2 PM if I haven't eaten yet. And I find my numbers are a little lower in the morning if I have the recommended snack before bed than if I skip it.
