I bought the Equilibrium DVD last weekend and watched it just now, and though I'm going to avoid spoilers to spare my roommates who haven't seen it yet...

Meh. It's a shaky premise plus Fahrenheit 451, THX 1138, Braveheart, Minority Report, and the Matrix in a blender with some Nazi symbolism and "gun katas" -- which are somehow both cool and stupid at the same time. Probably also at least one cop movie.

The idea of a "Grammaton Cleric" who enforces the law with a pair of pistols and a lot of style was a lot cooler until I saw the movie. Something I'd want to play in a cyberpunk RPG maybe.

I actually really enjoyed the movie Equilibrium. Reminded me a lot of the book "1984", which is a good thing. :) I saw the movie in the theater and bought the DVD, I really think it was probably one of the most underrated movies of 2001.

I personally thought it was much better then that movie with that one guy... Tom Cruise. In the future. Minority Report, yeah, that's the name. :)

On the 27th, 28 Days Later is in theaters, which looks like a pretty cool movie. It has the premise of the book I Am Legend, which is a pretty awesome book. Kind of odd and strange, but interesting in a morbid sort of way.

I also saw The Hulk on the 21st, I liked it. I'm a big Hulk fan, and I thought the movie captured the character quite well. It does get a bit muddled at the end, but I really think the rest of the movie makes up for it.

The editing is awesome and the CG is pretty top notch considering the type of genre that the film is in. The part of the movie in which this line is uttered is most definitely the best, though:

"You're making me angry... You won't like me when I'm angry."

Classic. :)

I liked Minority Report a lot better myself. Not as an action movie, but as a good tense dramatic thing with much more solid SF story.
