My phone arrived today. It's sweeeeet :)

The camera is half a megapixel, and actually better quality than my old digital camera (but sans flash). This isn't saying a lot, but it's fine for quick web photos and stuff. There's a 16MB card included with the phone (more memory than that camera had). Email transfer is $3/MB on my plan, but if I pick up an IRda or Bluetooth interface for my PC or a simple data cable, I won't need to send them by email. Or perhaps use the Palm to grab stuff via infrared and then USB it to the PC? Heh.

No great games with it, but that's fixed with a few downloads. AIM on it is very clumsy, but that's no biggie (and can also be fixed with a download). Text messages from other phones work fine. Email from non-phones is a little weird; a number appears in the Sender field. Will be looking that up on T-Mobile's and Nokia's site to figure that one out.

Being a Symbian OS phone that runs J2ME apps, there's a lot of stuff out there for it. So far, most of it is cheap but not free... I'm looking a bit more for the free stuff. :) There's at least one universal remote control app for it that takes advantage of the IR port, some fancy call screening software, IM clients, and of course, a ton of games.

Oh yeah, you can talk on it too. There are places at home where it has just 1 out of 7 bars of reception, but that's the rule rather than the exception on the old phone. At work it had 7/7 bars where the old phone had 1/4. I called my mom while walking to the grocery store, and the sound was crystal clear, she could hear everything fine, and when I got to the store she could tell it was a grocery store by the shopping cart noises in the parking lot and the babble of voices inside.

Overall I'm very happy with it. Very happy indeed. :)
