| The apartment hunting continues. But first...

Flowers for the wedding festival of Hethert tommorow, taken with the camera on my phone. Photoshopped a bit for dramatic flair, and to hide the pixelation of the dark background. Notice the blurry obstruction at the bottom... it's the new holster I picked up for the phone, which has a hole for the camera but the belt clip is just right there. I don't like the holster much and would have preferred the plastic snap-on swivel clip thingy, even though you have to remove it to use the camera. The store doesn't take returns, only exchanges... but maybe they'll exchange for a different product? Heh.
Anyway...
The first place I visited was really the second, because Lindbergh is a screwy divided highway where you can't turn left without using a U-turn exit and I missed the one I needed. Half Moon Village... well, it's a quiet place, I'll agree with the manager on that point. The creepy old manager with a weird zombie voice. The "sparkling" pool is sparkling with scum and stuff growing in it and probably hasn't been open in the past few years. The manager had no idea when an opening would be available. $495 for one bedroom, $575 for two with garage, no washer/dryer hookups.
The second (first) place was Ridge Point. A more typical corporate-run place. Currently being landscaped and remodeled, which means it's kind of a mess. There are 300 units at the main location and one temporary laundry facility (they're building a clubhouse evenutally which will have a larger laundry, but there was no sign of its construction having yet started). Decent in all other respects. $495 at the main location, $475 at the second, smaller location which I didn't visit. They're 50 square feet smaller at the other place. No washer/dryer hookups except in townhouses.
Third place, Cypress Village. Has nothing to do with Lindbergh, which is a plus, but is on Cypress which is perpetually under construction. The agent who showed me around reminded me very much of Neferu. Very nice landscaping, fancy pool with fountain, nice big apartments 4 to a building, several laundry facilities. Gym, with that bizarre expanse of window that gyms always seem to have, as if you want everyone to watch you while puffing and sweating. There wasn't a 1 bedroom townhouse available for me to look at, but the garden-style apartment was quite nice. 720 sq ft, big patio. $510 for garden or $555 for townhouse. No washer/dryer hookups.
Looks like whereever I go, I will become one with the laundry room.
Cypress Village is my top choice at the moment. I still want to look at Sandalwood Creek which is right next to Remington which is right near the office, and perhaps other places in town that don't advertise in For Rent. I want to go back and look at the townhouse at Cypress Village, 'cause that could be really neat.
