My bedroom is now emptier by 12 trash bags, mostly ancient clothes that should have long since gone away. Some were just old and icky, some tacky, some resembled the Jared "before" photo when I tried them on. Some were rediscovered as if for the first time; clothes that turned out to be slightly too small in the past are loose and comfortable now.

Overall though, I'm trying to throw out the bathwater, the baby and the tub so I don't have to move any of them. So a bunch of old T-shirts and a mishmash of miscellany got subjected to a draconian winnowing. I was a little less cold-hearted toward the warm winter clothes that I didn't wear last year (because I went with layers instead), but maybe we'll have a seriously nasty winter again sometime.

For space and cat-security considerations, I will be moving the lizards around too. Furry K can't break into scaly K's glass-walled home, but to keep Poco's Reptarium safe from feline predation requires a lot of shelf space and isolation from climbable furniture. So sometime between Sept. 13th and 20th, I'll move Kalila over to the apartment and Poco to the office.

Didn't get to the garage yet. There's some stuff I should put up on eBay, and I think I've said that before. There's some stuff that can just be tossed out -- I have a box of button-down shirts dating from my high school days, and SCA costumes that are probably hosting a whole colony of rodents.

But... 12 trash bags! I have more stuff than I thought. Had more stuff. Anyway, I don't particularly feel materialistic... :P

Heh, wow, that's a lot of stuff to throw away! I try to go through and get rid of clothes I don't wear anymore at least once every few years. ;)

Actually, I really don't get rid of the clothes (or really anything, for that matter). Everything just get stored away in what I call the "storage" closet (which is really just another word for the garbage can) because I always think that the stuff in there might come in handy some day... But so far its so messy that I'm afraid to even go in there. Maybe someday I'll venture into the unknown and remove it all. Someday.

Until then.

Donal MacLaren, Trimarian scalawag and occasional sea "merchant" (Yarr!). Theoretically a resident of Brineside Moor (Bradenton/Sarasota FL), I spent more time hanging out in the household of Baroness Morgan Morcheartaigh from Darkwater (Orlando FL). And occasionally, in an ironic sort of way, with some displaced and disreputable Egyptian types.

I have this theory that everyone in Trimaris was either scum or boring, but rarely both :)
