| Got more irons in the fire than I was expecting, musically:
- still waiting for sample of first CD to arrive in my mailbox. It should have arrived by now :P
- songs for Amun and Tayet are "done." A few people have the previous versions, but I've tweaked them since.
- song for Geb could use some tweaks if I can do it. I've been having problems with losing synth and effect settings, and my saved .FLP's don't have the coolness that my best rendered version does. (Turns out, I had links to both FLStudio 4.0 and 4.1.2. Save something in 4.0 and 4.1.2 can read it fine. Save something in 4.1.2 and 4.0 thinks it can read it fine, but loses a few random settings.) I think only Shemem has a copy of it as it is now.
- song for Heru-sa-Aset needs some work, slight song structure changes too. Again, Shemem has it in its unfinished state.
- song for Ptah is close to done, I just want to cut a slightly too long part near the beginning and tweak a couple of things. Nobody else has heard it. :) For the sake of industriality I actually (gasp!) laid down a simple "machine march" kick-snare-kick-snare beat through part of it.
- song for Sobek is well on its way. It's down to minor tweaks and one more experiment I want to try to make it a little more palatable to those people who will otherwise hate the long dark-ambient intro. But I won't try too hard... Sobek is not meant to be nice.
- amusingly enough (if you're easily amused), the Ptah and Sobek songs both take Chemical Brothers loops and turn them into entirely different animals. I don't think knowing this will help any C.B. fan recognize the original loop though. :)
- have not started on song for Shemem, but I do have a couple of ideas for starting points. None of which involve GameBoy or Commodore 64 emulators, buffer skipping, or severe bit reduction. It'll be a nice change. ::grin::
